Sam's Crew Cut

Turns out there's a hair salon specially for children in Great Eastern Mall, next to the KidzSports & Gym.

Sam was the one who drew our attention to it: there was a barber's chair fitted as a red car, and Sam had his nose pressed up against the glass wall in his attempt to reach it. Since the price of a haircut for children below 2 yrs was only RM23 (compared to S$15), & we had no other activities planned, we decided to let Sam cut his hair then. The shop's well designed child-proof door meant Sam couldn't simply push the door in, the shop assistant had to press a button to unlock the door to let us in.

Unfortunately, while Sam enjoyed looking at the car, he didn't want to sit in it! He started fussing, so it was decided I sit on a proper chair & carry him instead. After fastening a towel around his neck, he started to cry, and cry, and cry, all through the haircut. Luckily it was a total shave; I don't see how we could have managed some fancy hairstyling!

The assistant brought him CD covers of Barney & Mickey Mouse in a attempt to calm him down, but to no avail. Luckily towards the end, his dear daddy's presence calmed him down a bit.

Of course, after the haircut, Sam began to enjoy kicking the balloon decorations on the floor, then he discovered the kid's size chairs & table, and by the end he got on to the child safety scissors, we had to entice him to leave the shop!
