Sam in Kidzsports

Brought Sam to another paid indoor playground this morning, Kidzsports & Gym in Great Eastern Mall. Irritating drive there, cos cannot turn into the carpark directly from the main road opposite, had to make a U-turn 5 min down the road. And since the Jln Ampang is always so @#$%^& busy even on a weekend, basically had to waste additional 10 min just to reach the mall opposite!!!!!

Anyway, the Kidzsports on level 2 is smaller than the Megakidz, but the place is newer & looks cleaner. Entrance fee more expensive, RM$10 per entry on weekends. Socks also required for both child & parent; luckily this time I came prepared with my own socks. :)

The toddler play area is much smaller than the Megakidz one, but the entire playground is more padded & safer for Sam's age, partly cos there're lots of personnel around to look after the children.

Food there also not very healthy, though they have more child-size portions, so not so wasteful. Got sausages & fries for Sam, sandwiches for myself. While waiting, Sam started eyeing the pair of children at the next table eating popcorn. The Filipino maid in charge of the kids was very friendly, offered Sam the popcorn, which he promptly took!

Turns out Sam loved the popcorn! He kept taking the proffered food, in the end, came back on his own to ask for more when he finished the portion in his mouth!!! He hor....................need I say more???????

Sam in Megakidz

Brought Sam to Megakidz, the paid indoor playground in Midvalley Megamall today. Reached there so early, they were just opened at 10am, we're the 1st customer!

Costs RM$8.45 per entry for Sam's age. But turns out that both the child & the accompanying parent must wear socks in the play area, which I wasn't prepared for, so had to fork out another RM$9.90 for 2 pairs of socks for the 2 of us.

The play area for the toddlers wasn't very big. One of the play houses was in fact a duplicate of the one in Sam's playschool. So Sam didn't even go near that! But he happily tried out the plastic rocking horse, & easily climbed the short obstacle course. Then he went hyper playing with the little plastic balls:

The place not bad, having kids' size toilets & diaper changing area, even a simple makeshift curtain for breastfeeding. But seemed to have some kind of bugs in the toddlers play area: Sam's exposed legs had multiple red spots after playing for < 1 hr, though he didn't seem to find them itchy (maybe coz too excited playing). Luckily the spots subsided as quickly as they came: by the time we reached home at 1 pm for his nap, they were barely visible.

And the food sold there are rather unhealthy: soft drinks & mainly fried foods. Guess they were catering to the children's fav.

Must try to drive to Great Eastern Mall, to try out the other chain of indoor playground........

Sultan's Palace

Finally gotten our 2nd hand Toyota Vios, so we made our 1st trip in the car to MidValley The Gardens, to get the car seat for Sam (from Robinsons).

Turns out we didn't remember the route as clearly as we thought we did from our taxi trips. Took us 3 attempts (cos got lost on the highway & had to U-turn back to our place twice) before we reach MidValley, & that was using a long, roundabout route!

Anyway, during our 1st attempt, we followed a car in front of us into the tourist spot, the Sultan's Palace, so we made use of the opportunity to take photos with the guards.

The palace & the grounds itself are out-of-bounds. All the tourists can do are take photos with the guards on the horses, or of the gates, & the faraway view of the plain-looking palace through the fences. Dunno why it's still such a popular tourist stop.

Anyhow, Sam seemed pretty fascinated by the horses. And we were quite lucky, caught the change of guards. It's a very simply ceremony, since only have 2 guards on horseback, but still........video below:

(fluff) Friends

Have been crazy playing the Easter Egg Hunt on the Facebook (fluff)Friends application for the past week.

By now, have managed to accumulated enough Egg Hunt points to redeem the special decorations I want, so this fever is cooling down somewhat. Now simply playing to redeem extra munny.

Cos am in a buying mood: wanna own at least 1 of every decoration available!!!! And perhaps every habitat!!!!!

And busy racing too: feeding my virtual pet all the low cost speed boosting foods every day, so that I've gotten the bronze medal & all the trappings! Now thinking of going for the silver......

What do I want all the decorations for? To make my own (fluff) Art!!!! When the inspiration hits me I've been making 2~3 (fluff) Art at a time!!!

Wanna see what I've been making????

Sam's Present to Daddy & Mummy

Received this when sending Sam for his last day of school before the mid-term break today.

When entering the compound, saw the teacher passing the card & the egg basket to another mother, & I was thinking: "wow! the daughter sooooo clever, can make such complicated artwork at such a young age!"

When I was presented with the same thing, I ended up thinking: "no wonder the school fees are so high, we also have to pay the teachers to make the holiday presents!"

Obviously, Sam is not yet capable of printing his name in the card, or making the card & egg basket, even with the help of all the teachers in the class! ;P

After examining the artwork, I suspect Sam's only involvement was in the painting of the blue spots outside the egg basket. And maybe sticking the "It's Easter" on the card. I'll be very glad if he's actually doing such things at this stage!

Still, very happy the school made the effort for us parents. Though it was tough bringing the artwork back without a car: I lost one of the red eggs while grocery shopping at Hock Choon's after sending Sam to school, so there's only 2 eggs left in the basket now. :(

And Sam, seeing the display of the egg basket on the sideboard the very same evening, proceeded to tiptoe & reach for the basket, toppling & emptying all the eggs, glitter & cellophane paper on the floor.

He ended up with a big scolding & I ended up cursing all the glitter used to make the @!#$@$% eggs! ;P

Oh no! School holiday!

Just realised to my great dismay that Sam will be having his term break from this Thursday onwards!!!!! Wouldn't be starting school again till 7 April!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no!!!!!!! Have gotten used to the 3 hrs of my own private time in the mornings, now I'll be stuck with him for 24 hrs for 2.5 weeks!!!! Thinking about it is making me go gaga already!!!!!!!!

Worse, hubby going 4D3N business trip next week. Had originally planned to change my schedule to take my showers in the daytime during that period when Sam goes to school. Now I'm stuck with the problem of how to have 30min to myself each day for a relaxing shower again!

Praying very very hard our part time maid will be free to help babysit during those 4 days.................

Aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

More of Sam's Paintings

Received a stack of paintings from the playschool on Friday, hubby just managed to scan them in today.

Looks like this term's paintings are all on fruits: Sam having coloured (with the help of teacher) lychees, an orange, grapes, an apple, a papaya, & a pear.

Have uploaded all the scans in Facebook Photos, link as below:

Will upload his future artwork in the same place too, for ease of storage.

Hee, & of course let him see his 1st encounter with paintbrush when he grows up! ;)

Sam's Going Down a Slide

Sam playing on a slide in the kid's department of Robinsons, Midvalley The Gardens today.

According to hubby, Sam 1st went down the slide the usual way. It was probably too big for his age, he seems a bit scared after that, & started crawling down the slide instead there after.

Hopefully he'll start playing the slide in his playschool, which is more of his size.......

My 1st Nail Art

Yes, gotten my 1st nail art on Tues when I went for a foot treatment for my rough soles.
Which I promptly chipped that very night! Lucky already taken a commemorative shot. ;p

Sam's 1st Painting

Turns out that Sam attempted to paint on 4 March 08, received this in his chubby hole when I went to pick him up yesterday.
Though it may only be 2 strokes of paint, am very glad Sam seems to settling in playschool. At least now he's playing with the cars, attending the music lessons (not an easy job scrubbing the stamps off the back of his hands!) and now, painting!
Now waiting for him to start eating his lunch his school. Yesterday he had only 1/2 a piece of apple for the entire 2.5 hrs there! Such a heartache to see him so thin............
Then I can look forward to having his diaper changed during school hours, and perhaps see him go into the classroom willingly carrying his own little backpack (like his classmates), instead of crying his heart out when he leaves me now & when I pick him up..........

Pedicure at last!

Sam is finally staying in playschool for > 2hrs, which means I have time to go around & do my own stuff! Yeh!!!!!!

Went to the Hock Choon building today, the nearest local supermarket to the school. Turns out there's a Nail Room on the 1st floor of the building. The shop's supposed to open at 10am, but since the owner is already in the shop, & she didn't have too many customers this morning, I could have my RM45 pedicure without appointment.

Oh what bliss!!!! To finally enjoy a pedicure after nearly 2 whole years!!!! Last had one just before giving birth.............the neglect to my feet is unbelievable! U should have seen the thickness of dead & peeling skin on my soles!!! Must have been due to the wearing of sandals all the time..............

Now I've got pretty dark rose pink toes that even Sam noticed. :) Next week will probably try to go again. Wanna have my smooth feet back again!!!!!
